9 - “The Wizard of OZ” – 7:30 at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.

10 – Homeschool Day at Monticello, Charlottesville sponsored by HEAV.  Enjoy a special guided tour of the amazing plantation home of Thomas Jefferson, as well as a tour of Mulberry Row, home to many enslaved people who also lived and worked there.

18 – Day at the Capitol: Another HEAV event. Learn how a bill becomes a law from the Capitol staff.  Debate a homeschool-related bill and then vote electronically!

21 -”We the People” by Theatreworks  USA is a musical that brings American Government and Civics lessons to life, at the Paramount Theatre in Charlottesville as part of its Arts Education Program.  Show time 10:30. Grades 4-6. $5 per child/ $7 per adult.  One adult per homeschool household.  Make reservations early.

23- Ferdinand the Bull by ChildPlay Theatre for Everyone,  a Spanish-infused musical at the Paramount Theatre in Charlottesville as part of its Arts Education Program.  Show time 10:30. Grades K through 4. $5 per child/ $7 per adult.  One adult per homeschool household.  Make reservations early.

26 - Annual Curriculum Swap, 9am to 1pm, held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg (directions here) where homeschoolers can buy and sell their used curriculum and resources.  Contact Julie  sixinbroadway@msn.com to register to sell. ($5 sellers fee)

26 – Homeschool Day at New Market Battlefield, Shenandoah Valley.  Enjoy spectacular views of the Shenandoah River as you explore a variety of hands-on learning experiences for all ages! Learn to drill like the Confederate Army, dance the Virginia Reel, try 19th-century games and crafts, and more!

27 -Celtic Woman at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, 7pm.
